Welcome to Meet Me at Viridian, my first art exhibition!
Artist Statement
Meet Me At Viridian explores the theme of truth in my life, and how it has changed since I was a child.
Exhibition Description
Many of the paintings resemble dreamscapes. My influences are nature, pop art, impressionism and expressionism. The paintings evoke an epic journey. The subject begins alone, in the dark. As the journey evolves, so do the stories. From pain and separation moving into healing and understanding.
I am still relatively new to art. I began with sketching in a serious way (as opposed to doodling now and then). It all started on October 29, 2020. Painting followed in December of 2022. I paint in both acrylic and watercolor, although the exhibition paintings are in acrylic. The idea for this exhibit came about late in August of 2024. The goal was to create ten related images based on a very loose theme of “truth.” With a completion date of December, 2024. I further define truth to be “my truth.”
Well, my original time-line was off, but I'm excited to be finished! Descriptions of the paintings follow below. You will notice each has a hashtag, which is meant to be a reference to some of the underlying themes. The title of the exhibition, Meet Me at Veridian came immediately. It refers to the connection I have with a naturalized environment. Viewers will note the strong theme of the natural world in my art.
The tenth painting was completed in October 2025.
